Registration Overview
The steps for registering with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board are:
1. Contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to determine the
requirements for you (as an adult student) or your child(ren) to study in Canada
- Head to this link to determine you or your child’s eligibility to study in Canada.
2. Determine your status in Canada and the required documents you need to register
- View the table in our International Student Handbook to determine which documents you need to provide when registering at a KPDSB school.
3. Register online at a KPDSB school + Complete a Letter of Acceptance request
- Head to this link to view a list of KPDSB schools, and check out the website of the school you are interested in attending to learn more. You can also click here to head to the Registration page, where you will be prompted to make an account and register for your school of choice.
- Please ensure you upload all of the required documentation you need to register, as well as:
-Letter of Acceptance request form (found above)
-Student’s most recent academic record
-If applicable: secondary students participating in co-op require a work permit
4. Wait for a Letter of Acceptance to complete the Visa application
- Once your registration has been processed, a Letter of Acceptance will be finalized and sent back to you. The Letter of Acceptance will also outline tuition fees, if applicable.

Tuition Overview
- Tuition rates for the 2025-2026 school year are as follows:
Elementary Tuition: $19,881
Secondary Tuition: $21,341
*Tuition fees include a $400 non-refundable application fee
- Tuition payments can be made via cheque or EMT (electronic money transfer). Please review the information provided in the International Student Handbook for more information about how and when to pay tuition fees, and about where to upload proof of payment.
Insurance Overview
- Insurance/health coverage is required by all students before beginning their period of study, and proof of insurance must be brought to your school’s office at the beginning of the school year. Health coverage is not provided as part of KPDSB’s tuition fees—it must be purchased separately.
- Note: The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) is only eligible for students whose parents are in Canada on a work permit. Please refer to the information provided in the International Student Handbook regarding the Canada Emergency Medical Plan option for students requiring extra medical insurance.
